Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh are delighted to announce the return of The Phantom of the Opera, to its home and birthplace, Her Majesty’s Theatre from Tuesday 27 July.
The spectacular production will star double Olivier Award nominee, Killian Donnelly as The Phantom, Lucy St Louis as Christine Daaé and Rhys Whitfield as Raoul.
About the Show
Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House, hides the Phantom in a shadowy existence. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protégée Christine Daaé is so strong that even her heart cannot resist.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s mesmerising score along with jaw-dropping scenery and breathtaking special effects, magically combine to bring this tragic love story to life.
The musical first opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles. Since then The Phantom of the Opera has gone on to become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time, winning 70 major theatre awards and been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.
